University of Maryland:
Lecturer: BSCI 170: Principles of Molecular and Cellular Biology Spring 2021/22/23 In this course we explore the basic principles of biology with a special emphasis on the fundamentals of molecular and cellular biology. BSCI 207: Organismal Biology Fall 2020-23, Spring 2022 In this course we explore the diversity, structure and function of organisms as understood from the perspective of their common physicochemical principles and unique evolutionary histories. BSCI 151: Beyond Race: Human Biological Diversity Fall 2022/23 In this non-majors course we examine the scientific evidence for rejecting races as biological categories. The course covers basic biology, human evolution, human phylogenetics, and a critique of race as an explanation for human diversity and traits. BSCI 370: Principles of Evolution Summer 2021, Spring 2023 In this course we examine evolutionary processes in a natural and human environment, including adaptation; DNA sequence, protein, and genome evolution; evolution of developmental mechanisms; mechanisms of evolutionary change (mutation, natural selection, drift); epidemiology; coevolution and biological control; speciation; comparative methods; extinction and conservation; and human evolution. |
